Watched: 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple 🎬

Very different vibe for this instalment of the trilogy, with more emphasis on the evil of the non-infected but also, crucially, the humanity and compassion that still exists.

Jack O’Connell is outstanding as Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal. The Jimmy Savile stuff isn’t overplayed and not knowing anything about him – which I expect would apply to a fair majority of a US/non-British audience – doesn’t get in the way of the story.

Gory in parts – and this may be weird to say given this is technically a horror film – but I think unnecessarily so. If it had been toned down I don’t think the film would have suffered but I get why it’s there.

Very good film. Can’t wait for the third and final instalment, given how it’s set up at the end.
